Associate Professor – Head of Year 3
Room: Vivian Tower 811A
I teach Research Methods in the 1st year and Work Psychology in the 3rd year. My research is mainly focused on how people’s hours of work affect their health, performance and safety at work. A major part of this involves looking how the body clock affects (and is affected by) shift working.
I spend a lot of my time in Sweden where I am a guest researcher at the Stress Research Institute of Stockholm University. Before becoming a parent a few years ago, I used to enjoy windsurfing, mountain biking and amateur dramatics. Nowadays, it’s mainly paddling at beach, chasing runaway tricycles and the daily drama of family life.
To find Phil, go to the 8th floor of Vivian Tower, walk through the double doors and turn left. Phil’s office is down the first corridor on your right (after the two postgraduate offices).
